Swinging in Brussels: Club Cocoon

Thanks to corona it has been a long time since we’ve been able to go to a club! There was no better time to celebrate than our anniversary weekend! Club Cocoon is the one of two swinger club in Brussels and the only club open at the time so our decision was made before we even left town. Read more to find out how the place looks, feels, and parties!

The Look

Located near the city center of Brussels, the club itself is easy to find by looking for the cool retro Cocoon sign outside. The club costs 60€ for couples each day, which includes all drinks and food! When you enter, you’re greeted by a woman that gives you a key to the locker, a towel, and then offers a tour. Honestly, the tour is quite pointless. She only shows you the lockers and points to the food area; you’re better off exploring on your own. We quickly removed our clothing down to our best lingerie and started to look around.

The club itself is three floors: the first floor is the locker area, food buffet, and (strangely) the dungeon. When you enter the first floor, you can change clothing and grab a bite to eat before joining the party. The buffet was pretty standard with sausage, cheese, fruits, and surprisingly tasty desserts. Admittedly, it was a little strange that the dungeon is on display from the eating area. Cool for the ones snacking; huge turnoff for those into BDSM. It just seemed unnatural to do try out a St. Andrew’s cross while people eat meatballs and get dressed on either side of you. Although, the equipment did look very tempting and high-quality.

Immediately, we noticed that the number of single men was pretty big, once we got the the second floor we realized how many. The second floors is the club/dance floor, showers, sauna, and smoking room. The bar is small and offers a basic selection of liquors; the walls are lined with mirrors and unique art that looks sexy stylish. We quickly downed a drink and continued our tour. We didn’t go into the smoking room but we toured the showers and sauna, which were completely full of naked single men. The third floor was the play area with lots of beds to choose from, some with locking cabinet doors and others in the open for partner or group play.

The Feel

From the moment we took our first lap around the club, we knew this was going to be a night of dealing with single men. It was the most single men I’ve ever seen in a club, they flocked together and followed us in large groups each place we went. While we’re used to be followed around by single guys, the ratio was severely off and made creating the mood really difficult. At one point, we took a moment to enjoy a bed inside one of the large locking cabinets but the mood was quickly ruined by the sound of ten men pushing on each other to use the three peepholes.

The play areas themselves are actually relatively uninviting in their own way. The kitchen dungeon felt awkward. The sauna and showers were fully occupied by sweaty men. The top playroom had beds covered in condom wrappers, the sheets were clearly just left from an orgy and/or gangbang with no other clean sheets to use or attendants to change them out. I know that sounds a little bougie but we’ve been to quite a few clubs and one of these two options is pretty standard. The single men felt comfortable leaving used condoms on the floor and the staff doesn’t go around the rooms so it stayed this way the entire time we were there.

The Party

The best part of the club is the dance floor. The drinks come quickly and the DJ was fantastic; the aesthetic of room is sexy and comfortable. It felt so good to be out in a club, looking gorgeous and hearing our fav hip hop. There were a few couples and a few single women surrounded by more single men. After talking to each person, we realized two things: it is essential to know French in this club and the single women were actually hired entertainment. Each person that we talked to did not speak English, which made it impossible to connect with people. John and I speak a little Spanish, German, and Dutch but those were not sufficient for conversation. We had a series of very awkward introductions before we decided to enjoy the value of all-inclusive drinks.

Overall, the party vibe just wasn’t there. It’s important to note that we went during a time when every club is working hard to recover from corona. Maybe it was an off-night, maybe it wasn’t just not the party night for us. After failing to talk to every person in the club, we decided to leave at midnight to spend our anniversary in a better atmosphere. We left, walked to city center and partied at an awesome bar that we’ll talk about in our next article. We loved that the club is reasonably priced and centrally located, if you’re fluent in French, this club is a fun choice for you!
