The late Summer lull in retail is almost over and that means the best time of the year for gamers is fast approaching. As more studios are returning to the office, development is full speed ahead again for many studios. We have now had a full year with the newest generation of consoles. Exclusives have been scarce for the most part, with a few standout exceptions. Xbox is ready to catch up with some of the biggest releases of the year coming to its Game Pass subscription service releasing day one of launch.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
The remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl feature updated graphics and design in the spirit of Pokemon Let’s Go. They were popular editions to the franchise so this is expected to be a huge release for Nintendo. Let’s Go was a welcome update of the classic game, so this shouldn’t disappoint.

Back 4 Blood
The spiritual successor to Left for Dead 2 brings fast-paced action and zombie survival to your screens once again. Back 4 Blood was developed by some of the same people as the aforementioned title so players should be familiar with the style of play that has been around for quite some time. Four player teams fight their way through new and old enemies in missions not too different from The Walking Dead or other popular names in the genre.

Far Cry 6
Ubisoft has kept a solid following with the Far Cry series thanks to great writing and original concepts throughout the entire franchise of games. This time, players will explore Yara, a fictional Caribbean nation going through a revolution against an evil military and spiritual leader played by Giancarlo Esposito. This particular household is very excited for this one and we will definitely be streaming the experience.

Call of Duty Vanguard
We pretty much know what we are getting here. Call of Duty is the third largest-selling video game franchise of all time. You’ll fight wars in a WWII setting in numerous memorable battle and settings from one of the most important events in history. Call of Duty: Cold War was one of the first games to take advantage of the the next-gen console rush and was a great indicator of what’s to come in terms of console performance.

Forza Horizon 5
Microsoft’s biggest exclusive of the year is a hopeful contender for Sports Game of the Year with the welcomed Forza Horizon coming up in November. Horizon 4 on the PS4 was a racer that did more than you take you to tracks knwon in the sports racing world. Drivers will experience the thrill of the wheel in Mexico across a beautifully designed landscape.

Battlefield 2042
DICE Studios and EA Games have taken the approach of quality over quantity with their high selling first-person shooters. Players participate in large-scale warfare in battles as large as 128 people at a time. The everchanging environment is made even more treacherous by natural disasters that will change the tides of battle. This is a multiplayer-only title so you should expect to get much of a storyline out of this one.

Halo Infinite
This is it. This is the big one for Xbox. They built their name on the back of this studio and their loyal fans have been waiting for the next game in the series to deliver. Originally supposed to be a launch title, Halo Infinite has high expectations after a considerable time since Halo 5 and a couple of subtitles have been released.
