Quiet nights don’t have to be a drag. We got the party going in Munich!
Munich was a homecoming of sorts for me. I studied German language and culture for five years through high school and college, earning a minor in German. When our Eurail train pulled into Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), my jaw dropped in awe as all my studies came back to me. It was almost emotional and the experience was everything I hoped it would be. Specifically, I was taught the Bavarian dialect. Bavaria is the southern region of Germany known better for its Lederhosen clad Oktoberfest. Think of it as the “country” or what America calls its southern region.
Our options for lifestyle clubs were limited by the short time we spent there. We only had a few nights to see what the city had to offer. Besides being a bit out of city center, Karibik checked off everything on the list we were looking for. The website boasted an open bar, hot tub, and a colorful atmosphere. If you’re thinking of “swinging” by, TAKE A CAB. You will thank us when you find out it’s in the middle of a residential neighborhood nearly a mile away from the train stop. Very unsuspecting…
The interior is pretty small overall so the check-in process felt a little off. We were greeted by a woman who looked like the was in the entrance by chance on her way to do something. The room and hallway were brightly lit; far from a sexy ambiance you hope to see. Locker rooms are always a plus. They allow for security and a preparation area to make sure you are ready and don’t have to carry more than you want in the club. We noticed a couple leaving as we arrived; not something you want to see early in the night.
A tour showed the hot tub isn’t a place you’ll be finding yourself. It’s right next to the locker rooms and isolated from the rest of the play areas. It looked more like a bath tub than a sexy spot to take a dip. Play areas were empty so we didn’t take inventory of the room(s?) before we stayed at the bar for a while and got drinks. Cute ladies behind the bar were serving up delicious libations with no reserve. It was a slow night but luckily we found a friendly couple even younger than us who was down to hang for the night.
JWin and V plus open bar equals a good time for everyone. Apparently, shots aren’t really a thing overseas to kick off a party so we brought our rich American custom of binge drinking and got everyone there taking shots and slamming their glasses. The bartender in me had the girls pouring all my favorites. They were terrific sports about it. We got to know our new friends well and I was finally able to put my German skills to use and converse casually. Near the end of the night when everyone was mentally lubed up, the eight of us left in the club headed to the play room.
In the room was one of the most unique features I’ve ever seen at a lifestyle club. There was a long enclosed mattress int he middle of the room about 20 feet long with just one entrance on each end. Voyeurs can watch from the outside but are forced to keep their hands to themselves. Look but no touch. We coupled up for some exhibitionism and same-room play and competed for who could get the loudest. It was a fun time. Not too crazy but a great experience for everyone.
When it was all said and done, V and I started to gather our stuff and we headed out. We laughed all the way home as we discovered V lost and earring and one of her favorite nipple pasties! Moral of the story and a lesson learned: Don’t bring your favorite gear to the swinger club! Anytime you end up naked roll around, you risk misplacing something. We got messy in all kinds of crazy ways that night. We learned that we can be the life of the party as long as the environment is just right. Most of the time, if you’re having a bad night, you should do everything you can to make things better.
